13 Reasons Why, The Complete Soundtrack Review

Hello everybody. '13 Reasons Why' was a show that shook its viewers to their core. It's not just the story but it's entire soundtrack which played throughout the first full season that made the show, truly phenomenal.

Series nowadays are exceptional, only if they have a good soundtrack, and 13 Reasons Why is the best example for it. This post talks about both the score and songs played throughout the first season.

No spoilers will be shared. The story is of Hannah Baker who sadly committed suicide, though the story starts with death life in it's whole is shown throughout the whole first season. We start from the point of view of Clay Jensen who was a friend of Hannah, One Day a package arrives at his doorstep, in it were 13 tapes and with it comes the story of Hannah Baker and why she committed suicide.

The score starts with the opening title Oh in This World of Dread, Carry on The opening title is just like it's name, dreadful. The feeling when one hears this score is of going through the dark and into the light. It symbolises the journey from life to death, the last moments of one's life. The next on the track is Hannah in simple terms, this tune is dark and mysterious. The next on track, shows a beam of light shining through, is 13 Tapes. Then comes Clay, which sounds more like a sad version of a carnival tune. Truly speaking the whole score is of a sad theme. Next comes Riding which is upbeat and compelling but at the same time soulful and filled with melancholy. Alex sounds a lot like a sinister wild west theme. Courtney sounds tense, but none of the others in the score are worth mentioning.

Jumping into the songs in the soundtrack, the best songs are, Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division, The Night We Met by  Lord Huron, Into The Black by Chromatics, High by Sir Sly, Cool Blue by The Japanese House, The Stand by The Alarm, The Walls Came Down by The Call and A 1000 Times by Hamilton Leithauser Rostam. These songs are what make the show so good, and makes us keep coming back to another episode.

13 Reasons Why is all about the life of a teenager and how it's not all sunshines and rainbows as portrayed. When one grows up he forgets the bad and only remembers the good, which is not the fault of any human adult it's just psychology, where the mind forgets the bad and only remembers the good. 13 Reasons Why is a show  that must be on the top of your Binge watch-list.

I'm A Believer

Hey, hey music fans you won't believe who has come back and man what a comeback. After Levitate we would think they can't make something better. Yes you guessed it I'm talking about none other than our favorite Imagine Dragons.

That's them right there God what a band a little info on them. Imagine Dragons is an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. It currently consists of lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman.
Members: Dan Reynolds, Daniel Wayne Sermon, more
Genres: Alternative rock, Indie rock, Pop rock
Awards: Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance, more

Though I'm not a big fan of Levitate, to each his own I guess. But Believer is something in its own level. Believer sounds a bit similar to their older tracks Gold and Friction. The song is all about breaking out of conformity. It shows that pain can show you the truth behind society and the world. What Dan Reynolds is trying to convey is that once you have experienced pain you stop trying to stick into society and you start making your own life. You too must stop listening to others, know that we all are masters of our own seas

Daft Punk Nostalgia

Yo Yo I'm have up all night (no not for the reason you thought!) I was suffering from insomnia and so i thoughjt well lets make most of this night so I started binge hearing songs from artists and this band just fell onto my ears.So today we're making it making it a Daft Punk night. So let us go far with Daft Punk.

Some Info on Daft Punk
Daft Punk is a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter.
 Origin: Paris, France (1993)
Members: Thomas Bangalter, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo Genres: Disco, French house

The first song and the newest is Starboy. Seventh on the charts right now. Starboy is a song with deep meaning, without understanding it the song would sound like gibberish. Starboy is actually a sequel to 'I Can't Feel My Face' and 'Tell Your Friends'.

The story begins with a struggling The Weeknd trying to get people to notice him at gigs. The devil then lights him on fire and kick-starts his career. The Weeknd then realizes that the deal is awful so he buries this new singing creation and shoots the devil. However, the devil is not human and therefore cannot be killed. Furthermore, he is rather vengeful. Although The Weeknd believes he is alive and free, he finds himself in a car accident that nearly kills him. As he walks into the red room, he realizes that he cannot escape the devil. The devil holds an apple reminding him that the deal is non-voidable. The two ladies that were with The Weeknd were actually the devil’s minions and the near-fatal accident was actually a warning: Any further transgressions will result in death. Although the devil brought him fame and success, The Weeknd is stuck in a loop where any attempts to break free lead him right back to the devil and his apple.

Starboy is all about stating that the world is better off without religion. We can find it where he says P1 tracks are cleaner than your Church Shoes symbolizing that those who actually visit temples are dirtier in mind than normal people who have faith in God and not in man.

Next on the Playlist is Get Lucky Which is a Daft Punk ft. Pharell Williams and Nile Rodgers. Its From the Album Random Access Memories. It is one of the funkiest and Jive filled songs you can find. It's all about Lust and Love. The two words are pretty much interchangeable in this song. So like the Phoenix rise from the ashes and raise your cups to the sky and never give up WHO YOU ARE!

Rock-a-bye baby

Yo, Yo, What's Up this is Karun Abraham and I'm here with another song one that topped the charts for quiet some time. On this day I'm reviewing on the song Rockabye by Clean Bandit. This marvelous track featuring the vocals of Sean Paul and Anne Marie is unique comparing all the other songs of 2016.

A small info. on Clean Bandit.
Clean Bandit are a British electronic music group formed in Cambridge, England in 2008. The band consists of Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson and Luke Patterson.

Alluding to the nursery rhyme Rock-a-bye Baby, this electronic music band Clean Bandit turns this theme into a motivational track. The emotional and meaningful song is a dance hall song about the hardships of all the single and struggling mothers around the globe.
When I hear the song , I feel comforting and overwhelmed. This song is out to all you single mothers heck Mothers in general who have struggled a lot to give their children the life, they did not have.

Second on the Charts and one of my new favorites is Ed Sheeran's Shape Of You. Edward Christopher "Ed" Sheeran is an English singer, songwriter and occasional rapper and actor. He was born in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk.

Born: 17 February 1991 (age 25 years), Hebden Bridge, United Kingdom

Shape Of You (originally written for Rihanna) is the freshest tune you can find. Unique in Sheeran's music box the song is all about love, the physical and emotional one.
